Largs is a very popular, attractive seaside town, just 45 minutes by car from Glasgow. Made famous since 1263 when the Vikings made the usual pillaging etc. which was popular at the time. Culminating in 'The Battle of Largs' ,and the erection of ' The Pencil' as a monument, next to LYH. Largs Marina (LYH) offers an excellent 24/7 facility for visiting Yachtsman.Shopping in Largs metropolis is comprehensive, less than 2 miles away, and includes Supermarket, Restaurants, Carry-outs, various shops, pubs, Hotels, and B&B 's. The Area is very beautiful, and described my many as some of the finest Sailing Waters in the World . Abundant Golf Courses ,walking , climbing ,cycling, kayaking ,wind surfing , Scuba diving and local bird watching.
